I am so delighted to have been invited to do an event at the book festival this year, I can’t wait! My event is this Friday 19 August at 10am. Although it is sold out, I am told you can ring and check for any ticket returns. My event, Scottish Beasties, will be all about celebrating Scotland’s wildlife through reading, art and craft. I have made up Highland Cows for us to decorate and then we will have a ‘best in show’ display with some prize giving. If you are coming I look forward to seeing you soon.
I will post photos after the event, but here is a photo of some event prep and the banner.
Next Saturday I will be hosting a little artists party at Golden Hare Books. I will be reading There Was a Wee Lassie Who Swallowed a Midgie (with a little help from my audience) followed by a craft session. Last weekend I got the opportunity to do a joint event with Rebecca Colby at the Wigtown Book Festival and we all made puffins, but this time we will be making little Scottie dogs! Here is a photo of what we will be making and the details of the event are below . . .

Recently I was asked by the wonderful people over at the Scottish Seabird Centre, in North Berwick, to take part in their first ever Puffin festival. Running from Friday 16 to Monday 26 May, the Scottish Seabird Centre’s Puffin Fest will feature a ‘family-friendly and environmentally-focused programme of activities’. I will be hosting a storytelling (Wee Lassie) and puffin craft workshop on Saturday 17 and Saturday 24 May, at 11:00. Above is a sneak peak at the activity the children (or adults!) will be making. So, if you are free one of those days and can reach North Berwick, please pop along for some Puffin fun!
p.s I will also be exhibiting some artwork from Wee Lassie in the Puffin Exhibition.
